The Possible Protective Effect of Cinnamic Acid on Ovalbumin-Induced Asthma in Mice

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disorder in which immunological and structural cells play role. The limits of conventional medicines necessitate the development innovative therapeutic techniques for asthma. In present study, we investigated possible protective effect cinnamic acid (CA) on ovalbumin-induced asthma mouse model. Sixty albino male mice BALB/c type weighing (20-30) grams were chosen at random divided into five groups each one contains 12 animal: Group I: PBS/liquid paraffin control. II: model group. III: control group; received (50 mg/kg) liquid orally by gavage. IV: / group (25 mg kg) acid; V: asthma/ experiment continued 14 days. On day 15, broncho-alveolar lavage fluid, blood lung tissue was collected. Total cell count, TNF- α, IL -33, serum IgE increased considerably after sensitization to ovalbumin (OVA), while GSH levels decreased significantly. other hand, administration (25mg 50mg/kg) has significantly total WBC results, significant increase results. These findings suggest that against OVA-induced allergic mice, possibly through its antioxidant activity inhibitory some proliferative modulating enzymes.
